The clothes worn underneath
The same, smooth-shiny material, only very short, most with inner briefs, the dark blue ones without, that is the Adidas shorts. They also date back to the 70s and 80s: as soccer shorts or German Army sports shorts.
One of them fits perfectly with my training pants.

While I have known about the Adidas track pants for a very long time, as can be read in the blog post From The Leash, the Adidas shorts came along much later in my life.
As I write this, I am trying to remember how exactly I found out about these shorts. I think I first saw them on the internet. I remember it was in my first apartment in the student dorm in Berlin Biesdorf just after the turn of the millennium, so about 10 years later.
By the way: around that time, my preference for sports pants also jumped over to sports shoes. However, I do not like every kind of sneakers and also not every smell - my own smell is the most pleasant for me, there I know, so to speak, what I have. :)
The old and much loved Fila sneakers were also with me on this day in March 2013, but they stayed in the bag on the bottom right corner of the picture. :)
The plain dark blue shorts without Adidas logo do not have an inner brief, they were made for the Bundeswehr as sports shorts. All other color combinations have a cotton inner slip from the factory. Whether you like it and leave it or you do not like it and cut it out, that is up to you. Since I love the outside material, which the inner slip does not have, it usually cut it out for me.
There are shorts in different colors, plain, with shadow stripes or pinstripes. Shadow stripes are vertical wider stripes of darker and less shiny material like on the shorts pictured in this blog. Pinstripes, on the other hand, are thin white stripes, also running vertically.
The medium blue Adidas shorts with shadow stripes has become my favorite, mainly because the color matches exactly with the training pants. :)
Whether you wear something under the Adidas shorts or not, is also up to you. I find the combination with an Adidas swim slip very appealing, because I also like the thin and tight-fitting Lycra fabric very much.
Meanwhile, I also have an Adidas swim slip in matching blue color for this.
By the way, the sleeping bag on the deck chair below me is made of the same beloved material - and even older. It dates back to the childhood of my mother! Practically, it serves here mainly as a windbreaker for the back. :)
